BIOGRAPHY

Anne van den BroekeIn December 2016, Anne van den Broeke was appointed to the Paris Court of Appeal list of translators, who are officially qualified to do certified translations. She works mainly from French to English but also from time to time from English to French.

Prior to this appointment, she set herself up as a freelance translator in 2015, a move that was inspired by more than 25 years of experience in the legal and financial sector in Paris, France.

Her interest in the legal sector began following an initial experience in the financial and tax sector, namely in the Paris office of Grant Thornton International. She then worked for the next 17 years in three Parisian business law firms with strong international practices (SCP Bernard Hertz Béjot, Cournot Association d’Avocats and Cournot, Lemétais & Associés) as a legal assistant and translator to Maître Stéphane Cournot, attorney at law and member of the Paris and Washington D.C. Bars, until his retirement in 2015. Having worked on a long-term basis with lawyers, whose core practice areas were mergers and acquisitions, business law and litigation, she has naturally developed the corresponding translation skills both in American English and British English.

Combining her experience in the abovementioned Paris-based law and accounting firms with her recent studies at the Paris Translation and Interpreting School (Ecole Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ESIT)), where she obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Court Translating and Interpreting in 2015, Anne van den Broeke continues to remain up to the mark in today’s fast-moving and innovative professional environment and pursues training and continuing education, when the opportunity arises so as to enhance her professional services to the full and provide her clients with bespoke services based on 28 years of experience.
